You might be thinking, doesn’t THC mean marijuana? Is that even legal?
The answer is… it’s complicated. Without giving you a full-blown biology lecture, here’s what you need to know. Tetrahydrocannabinol, or THC, is a chemical compound found in the Cannabis sativa plant species, which includes both hemp and marijuana plants. The chief distinction between hemp and marijuana is determined by how much THC is found in the plant. More specifically, hemp plants contain less than 0.3% THC. Products that are hemp-derived are completely legal, so long as the amount of THC also falls under 0.3% of the total product weight. All Discreet products contain less than 0.3% THC, which means they’re federally compliant with the 2018 Farm Bill.
To further understand this, let’s do a case study with one of our products. Our Everyday Chill tablets weigh one gram each. They contain 2.5 milligrams of THC. If we do some quick math, we find that 2.5 out of 1000 milligrams are THC, which comes in at .25%. Isn’t science fun?

Hi, My name is Nate Farnsworth. I quite literally grew up in the supplement marketing industry. As a child, I remember my grandpa carried inventory in his basement. My mom bought into the model too.
While working at 2 multi-million dollar network marketing companies while earning my undergrad degree and M.B.A., I learned to love the industry even more. In addition to my experience with network marketing, I’ve been fortunate enough to spend the last 20 years of my career in the supplement side of things. I have formulated products for many different companies, from startups to billion-dollar corporations.
On top of my experience with other companies, I’ve also started a handful of companies. Some were more successful than others, but each one taught me a valuable lesson.
Recently, I got to the point in my career where I felt compelled to do more with what I have learned. I was ready to take a risk that few others had dared to take. At risk to my reputation, my financial stability, and my other business ventures, I took a leap of faith. Through this decision, Discreet was born.
Starting Discreet has also taken another type of courage. Historically, there’s been a negative stigma around the use and production of cannabis-based supplements. As the political and social landscape around these products has started to shift, I have seen the benefits in my life and in the lives of those around me. I’ve pledged to contribute however I can in shifting these stigmas. It’s important that consumers have informed access to these life-changing products.
